Statement of Faith
The Bible:
The Bible is God’s perfect Word to mankind written over a period of roughly 1500 years by over 40 different authors yet contains a consistent theme of God’s redemption of mankind through the sacrificial death of God the Son: Jesus Christ. It is the sole and final authority for faith and practice.
Trinity:
God exists as three persons (Father, Son, and Spirit) with one divine nature. There exists just one Godwho is maximally great, each of His characteristics in perfect union to their maximum potential. God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.
God:
God the Father is the first person of the Trinity and is eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, all-knowing,all-wise, all-loving, completely just and perfectly holy, and sustainer of the universe. God is the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Father of all true believers.
Jesus:
God the Son is the second person of the Trinity. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a perfect and sinless life while completely identifying with mankind. He is both fully God and fully man. In His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of mankind. He was raised from the dead after three days and ascended into heaven. One day He will return in power and glory to judge the world and consummate His mission of redemption.
Holy Spirit:
God the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. Through His inspiration, men wrote the Scriptures. Through His illumination, men can understand the Scriptures. His job is to exalt the Son, convict men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior and effects regeneration. He indwells every believer as the promise of the eternal life they inherited upon their salvation.
Salvation:
Mankind is sinful by nature. Sin separates man from God. But God provided a way to reconcile mankind to Himself through the atoning work of Jesus’ death on the cross. Salvation comes solely through personal faith in Jesus Christ and repentance of sin. Upon this act of faith, God justifies the sinner forgiving him of all charges because Jesus paid the debt.
